The 3rd crown we will look at in our study of the Crowns of Heaven is the “Crown of Rejoicing.” Let’s begin in the book of 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20. We will also look at scriptures from Matthew chapter 7 and Matthew chapter 28.
1 Thessalonians 2:19 reads:
19 “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? 20 For ye are our glory and joy.” (KJV)
Who receives the Crown of Rejoicing?
The Crown of Rejoicing or (Soul Winner’s Crown), is for those who suffered their faith. Always sharing Christ, leading others to Christ, and making disciples. I want you to ask yourself – am I a true disciple of Christ?
Ok, now let’s answer that question. Look at Matthew 7:21; this is Jesus speaking.
21 “Not everyone who calls out to Me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of My Father in heaven will enter.”
Are you actually doing the will of the Father to receive this crown? To be a true disciple of Christ, and to receive this heavenly crown you must do the will of your Father in heaven, and Jesus gave us this command in Matthew Chapter 28 verses 19-20: 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
You were commissioned by Jesus to go and make disciples! You may not be able to go to other nations, or to other countries or States, but you can go to the grocery store, the malls, next door, in your neighborhood or even in your Church and share your faith by leading others to Christ. By doing this be assured that you will receive the soul winner’s crown, the Crown of Rejoicing. Amen!
