Foundational Scripture: Psalm 139:14-17
14 Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous-how well I know it. 15 You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. 16 You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. 17 How precious are Your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! Psalm 139:14-17
The Lord and I, in our daily talks, pointed something out to me that I needed to be reminded of. He simply stated: I need you to see yourself as I see you! The Lord began to talk to me as a little boy sitting on the knee of his father.
The Lord said: I made you so wonderfully complex, I watched you being formed and woven in utter seclusion in the womb. I saw you before you were born, and I recorded every day of your life in my book. I laid out every moment of your day before a single day had passed. How precious are my thoughts about you. I love you!
I began to weep!
My dear friend, this is how God sees you, and He wants you to begin to look at yourself in the same manner. No man, or woman, will ever see you the way your Father in heaven sees you. He cares for you the way a father cares for his newborn infant; gently with strong loving hands, and with a precious heart. He melts at the sound of your voice when you call on His name. He reaches out to protect you from danger. He’s awake watching over you as you slumber soundly. He is always there listening for your voice, waiting for you to wake up so that He can love on you throughout the day. Can’t you feel His presence as you read this? Stop reading for a moment – LISTEN! He’s there with you.
Now open up your heart to Him, so that you may begin to feel His presence. From this moment on when you speak about yourself, speak as God would speak of you. When you look in a mirror, don’t look at who you see on the outside, look at the heart that lies within. God does not look at the flesh, He looks at the heart.
(Focus Point): Don’t listen to the negative things other people say about you. What matters is how God looks at you!
Let this day be a new beginning and season in your life, because you now know the truth! It does not matter how others look at you, only how God sees you. I pray that this short word that I shared with you, will grow in your spirit, and become life changing for you. God loves you, and cares so preciously about you. Let there be no more sadness, and no more tears, because….YOU ARE THE JOY OF THE LORD!!
Lastly, I want to leave you with a passage of scripture from Psalm 139:23 to speak over yourself. Make it a prayer of faith and pray it daily, and watch God manifest it in your life. Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends you, and lead me along the path of everlasting life, in Jesus name. Amen.
Now go back and read Psalm 139 from the beginning!
