The Robe of Righteousness

The Robe of Righteousness

“I am overwhelmed with joy in the Lord my God! For He has dressed me with the clothing of salvation and draped me in a robe of righteousness. I am like a bridegroom in his wedding suit or a bride with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10 (NLT)

Who receives the Robe of Righteousness?

The Robe of Righteousness is for those who receive the Lord’s salvation. It is for those who lived the way that God has told us to live. It is for those who went through the sufferings, persecutions, martyrdoms, the tribulation, sicknesses, abuses, hatred, for everything the world tried to use against them to cause them to turn from God, but yet they lived for God, and

Revelation 7:13-14 reads,

13 “Then one of the twenty-four elders asked me, who are these who are clothed in white? Where did they come from? 14…”These are the ones who died in the great tribulation. They have washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb and made them white.”

The blood of Jesus is what washes our sins away, purifies and cleanses us. It is through Jesus that we receive the Robe of Righteousness. Look back to Isaiah 61:10, it tells us that the robe is the clothing of salvation. Let’s make a correlation here if we can. Throughout the bible, the Lord tells us that we are priests and kings. What are the garments of Priests and Kings? Crowns and Robes! You are the righteousness of God, and when Jesus returns to Earth to come escort those chosen for salvation along with His Priests and Kings back to Heaven, you will be given a Robe of Righteousness to wear as you judge the world with Christ.

The benefits for receiving the Robe of Righteousness

15 “That is why they stand in front of God’s throne and serve Him day and night in His temple. And He who sits on the throne will give them shelter. 16 They will never again be hungry or thirsty; they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun. 17 For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water. And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”  Revelation 7:15-17 NLT
